The Watermill Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Nice room with a view of the river.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well laid out with all the facilities we required. The furnishings were modern, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order; this meant you had to wait a little time, but it was worth it as it was cooked perfectly. The location, right on the river, is unique and very pretty. We were very pleased we chose this hotel for an overnight stop.

The staff were amazing. From the manager to the cleaners. I ended up at the last minute having to take part in an Employment Tribunal via Zoom from my hotel room along with 2 others. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. I also slightly injured myself (bumped my head, my own fault). As I was there on my own I went out to Reception to get help and they couldn't do enough for me. They even pumped up my flat tyre! They were very kind and professional. They made what could have been a disastrous stay into a surprisingly good experience. The kindness of strangers....

Room looked newly refurbished. Very comfortable bed and very good pillows.. The heating had been put on as it was a cold day so room lovely and warm. Lovely view of river from the lovely window seat. Breakfast was amazing. Choice of cooked or continental or both. Good quality food, excellent sized portions, served freshly cooked and quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful especially the young lady who worked in the breakfast room, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is used by a number of contractors but this was not detrimental to our stay in any way. .

The person at reception when we arrived was very good indeed - friendly and welcoming and changed our room (for one with a walk-in shower rather than a bath) without fuss. The same person also served us in the bar later on and their manner throughout our stay contributed significantly to our enjoyment of the Watermill. The room was clean, comfortable and remarkable value for money. There is plenty of (free) on-site parking.
